Dear Red Devil Parents and Students,
The time has come for us to say goodbye to the Springville High School building that has served our community so well and prepare for the transition into our beautiful new home. We are incredibly excited about this new chapter, and I want to share some important details regarding the upcoming weeks to include everyone in these events and to ensure a smooth transition for everyone.
Calendar of Events
Community Open House & Showcase
When: May 7th, 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
What: Besides the traditional "showcasing" of the great work of our students, we are inviting the entire Springville community to tour the old school one last time. Whether you performed on our stage, played on our courts, or learned in these classrooms, come relive those "glory days" and take final photos of this historic building. Spread the word!
"Bringing Down the House" Performing Arts Show
When: May 7th and 8th at 7:00 PM
What: A celebration and the last great show in the Springville High School auditorium featuring all of our Performing Arts Programs. This is a performance you won't want to miss.
New School Ribbon Cutting
When: May 18th, 6:00 PM
What: Join us at the front of the new building for speeches and performances celebrating the spirit of Springville High School. Following the ceremony, the doors will open for the public to tour the new facility.
Class of 2026 Graduation
When: May 19th, 2:00 PM
Location: Utah Valley University (UVU)
Note: Come celebrate the historic final graduating class of the "old" Springville High!
Public Sale of Furniture & Equipment
When: May 21st (11:30 AM - 3:00 PM) & May 22nd (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
What: We will be selling surplus items (desks, chairs, lockers, etc.) at affordable prices. All proceeds will directly benefit SHS student programs.
Note: Buyers are responsible for any necessary uninstallation and hauling (please bring help).
Moving Week & Final Schedule
We want to finish the year strong! Our schedule for the final two weeks is as follows:
May 15: Last day for Seniors.
May 19: Graduation Day.
May 21: Last day for Sophomores and Juniors.
Student Involvement in the Move: Because we must vacate the current building shortly after the school year ends, our staff and students will assist with moving items during the week of May 12-15.
To clarify any misconceptions: academic instruction remains our priority. Classes will still be held each period that week. Each teacher will likely utilize about half of one class period during that week to have students help move light items. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to see the new building early and contribute to the legacy of our school through service.
Keepsakes & Memorabilia
Demolition of the old building is scheduled to begin June 1. We know many of you want a piece of SHS history to keep:
Commemorative Bricks: Bricks will be placed outside the construction fence daily after demolition begins. These are free to the public as keepsakes; we simply ask that they not be taken for resale.
Gym Floor Portions: Sections of the gym floor will be available for purchase. Please contact the Administration or Athletic Department via email if you are interested.
General Inquiries: For interest in any other specific items, please reach out to the administration directly.
A Call for Respect
This building has been a sanctuary of growth and opportunity for generations of Springville families. It has served us well, and we intend to honor its legacy until its mission is complete.
We will have a zero-tolerance policy regarding vandalism, graffiti, theft, or any destruction of property prior to demolition. We ask for your help in encouraging our students to treat this building with the reverence it deserves. Any illegal activity will be prosecuted. Let's close this chapter with the pride and dignity that defines Springville High.
