SHS Artists participate in the The Memory Project

This year, students from Springville High School had the incredible opportunity to participate in The Memory Project, a youth arts organization dedicated to promoting intercultural understanding and kindness through portrait art. Since its founding in 2004, The Memory Project has connected over 320,000 young artists with children in 57 countries, creating powerful global connections and spreading messages of hope and friendship.

Our talented student artists at Springville High were matched with children from around the world who have faced substantial challenges, including neglect, poverty, or loss. Using photographs and background information provided by The Memory Project, each student created a heartfelt, hand-drawn portrait to send back to their assigned child. These portraits often become treasured keepsakes and a symbol of care and connection across cultures.

Participating in this program not only allowed our students to use their artistic skills for a meaningful cause but also helped foster empathy, global awareness, and compassion. We are proud of their dedication and honored to be part of such a powerful initiative that continues to make a lasting impact worldwide.
