ACT Practice Test: The Practice ACT for sophomores is next Monday, September 18th. Only sophomores will come to school that day; juniors and seniors have a day off! Room assignments will be posted around the school on Friday, and the test will commence promptly at 7:55AM, so don’t be late! School will end at 11:15am.

From Junior High to High School, Welcome Valerie Bodily

Valerie Bodily is our new 10th grade math teacher at Springville High.  For the past five years she taught at Springville Junior High.

“I want to help students learn and be prepared to be successful in the future,” said Bodily.

She is also our new Red Devil Assistant Coach for Cross Country; previously she was track coach at Springville Junior.

“The team is doing great! We have a very exciting season ahead of us,” said Bodily.

Bodily is married to Robert Bodily and they have two children named Annie (2) and Bennett (3 months).

Fun, New English Teacher Shanna Daniels

Shanna Daniels one of our new English teachers here at Springville High School. Daniels has 16 years of teaching experience.  Previously she taught at Spanish Fork Middle, Payson Middle, and Mt. Nebo Jr. High.

Daniels vision for teaching is for there to be plenty of laughter and class discussions. Daniels wants students to be able to find something to smile about during class.

Daniels most rewarding experiences are ones when past students are seen around town and they are productive, happy adults.

New Math Teacher Really Adds to the Experience

Ms. Emily Adams is a new Math teacher here at Springville High School. This is her first year teaching. Her classes include Math 2, Math Lab, and College Prep Math. Previously, she student taught at Salem Hills High School.  Before that, she attended Brigham Young University.

Adams believes, “That anyone can be good at math.”

Adams recounts her most rewarding experience, “I once had a student tell me that when I teach, it was the first time that they understood math, and they realized that they could be good at it,” said Adams.

Outstanding New Science Teacher

Darwin Deming, is our new multi-science teacher who loves his family. He wants to not only teach, but to also help students gain lifelong skills in science.

Deming teaches Astronomy, Geology, Environmental Science, and Physics with Technology. Deming has 11 years of teaching experience. Previously Deming taught at Union Middle School in Sandy, and at Mount Nebo Jr. High in Payson.

New Business Teacher Chelsi Nielsen

Mrs. Chelsi Nielsen is our new business teacher here at Springville High. Nielsen has seven years of teaching experience and has taught a wide variety of subjects including Marketing, Economics, Exploring Computer Science, Digital Marketing, Leadership, and Sports & Entertainment Marketing.

Nielsen’s vision for teaching is, “To make a difference in the lives of students and help them develop an interest in the world of business and marketing,” said Nielsen.

She is also the new Co-Adviser for the Business Leaders of Tomorrow (BLT) Club.
